New Innovation and Sustainability Initiative to Explore Five Wicked Problems
We are excited to announce COLab will be partnering with Colorado Press Association and Colorado Media Project on a series of media-industry-led working groups that
What does a healthy local news & information ecosystem look like in 2028 — and how do we get there?
Five years ago, a broad coalition of Colorado’s higher education, business, philanthropic, civic and community leaders galvanized around the importance of sustaining local journalism for a healthy democracy. Since then, Colorado’s local news ecosystem has become a beacon for the nation, with dozens of innovative initiatives emerging, and a new spirit of collaboration, optimism and community service taking hold among newsrooms across the state. (Round of applause, for our partners!)
At this invigorating half-day summit on Sept. 21, CMP grantees, partners, and community members will embark on a forward-looking journey to envision what the state’s local news and information ecosystem will look like in the NEXT five years — and how, by working together, we can continue to build a more functional and inclusive public square for Colorado, both online and offline.
The 2023 CMP Summit is an opportunity to roll up your sleeves and be part of a transformative conversation to actively shape the future of news and information in Colorado and beyond. Whether you are a journalist, publisher, technologist, educator, student, community or business leader, or an engaged resident — your insights and contributions are invaluable.
