The Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) Student Competition is open for entries!

Calling all college journalism students! Here is an opportunity to develop a journalism idea to test out in partnership with a local news source.

THE CHALLENGE:
Come up with a utility journalism idea to test out in partnership with a local news source. Utility journalism, also known as service journalism, works to help communities solve problems, answer questions, and make big decisions in their lives.

Enter your idea by October 15, 2022 to be in the running for selection as a finalist.

Finalists will have until March 2023 to implement and test the idea before giving a presentation detailing your pitch, impletmentaion, and resullts to the judges.

PRIZES
First prize is $10,000
Second place is $2,500
Third place is $1,000
