Apply for ProPublica’s Investigative Editor Training Program

ProPublica’s editor training program is a yearlong initiative aimed at expanding and diversifying the pipeline of investigative news editors. The program includes an intensive, all-expenses-paid, weeklong bootcamp in ProPublica’s New York offices followed by regular virtual seminars and one-on-one consultations with a ProPublica senior editor.

Participants will learn how to guide reporters through complicated accountability stories, including challenges that may arise when deciphering data, obtaining documents and engaging sources who have access to secret or sensitive information or who have suffered trauma. They will also learn how to work collaboratively with research, data and multimedia teams to elevate an investigative project and maximize impact potential.

The deadline for applications is Monday, March 11, 2024. Apply here.

For those interested in applying, ProPublica will host an information session on Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. MT to discuss the application process, program expectations and applicant questions. If you would like to submit questions in advance, you can include those in your registration.
