This year’s #newsCOneeds program — supported by Colorado Media Project — challenges participating newsrooms to raise $5,000 from individual contributors between November 30 or Giving Tuesday (a.k.a. #GivingNewsDay) and Dec. 31. The 2023 program features an expanded fundraising capacity building and training workshop, which begins late July, 2023. These workshops will include hands-on coaching from news industry and fundraising experts with the Colorado News Collaborative, Local Media Association, and Make Philanthropy Work, and access to a peer-learning cohort of newsrooms with similar fundraising experience and capacity.
Grant recipients commit to participate in both the 2023 #newsCOneeds fundraising workshops during the summer and fall of 2023 and the #newsCOneeds matching campaign during December 2023.
The application opens Friday, June 23, 2023, and closes Monday, July 17, 2023 at 5 p.m. MT.
Register here to join the applicant information session on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. (via Zoom).
