The Colorado Engaged Elections Fellowship program is open for applications!
What is it?
The Engaged Elections fellowship program will support up to 12 Colorado newsrooms in developing a winning strategy to surface and respond to their public’s critical information needs related to elections. Each participating newsroom will also receive a $1,000 stipend to support their engagement strategy.

When / where is it?
This three-month program starts in September and runs through November. The fellows meet every other week virtually, plus there will be an in-person gathering in September during the Colorado Press Association’s Annual Convention.
Who is behind it?
This fellowship is a partnership between Hearken and COLab, and is made possible by The Gates Family Foundation and Colorado Media Project. Training and coaching will be delivered by Hearken’s Jennifer Brandel and Malii Watts-Witten as well as engagement innovator jesikah maria ross. It will feature best practices in engagement from newsrooms all over the country, as well as spotlight the work of Colorado Public Radio.
