INN + PACEs: Trauma Workshop Series — Historical Trauma

When journalists learn about the science behind trauma, they ask better questions and produce more informed and useful stories for their communities.

Join the first in a series of four workshops exploring the science of positive and adverse childhood experiences and the policies and practices of trauma-informed care. You’ll learn how to incorporate this knowledge in your reporting, your news organization and your personal life.

The workshops – co-sponsored by INN and PACEs Connection – will take place Wednesdays at 2 p.m. MT.

Topics and dates for each of the workshops:
The science of trauma, Jan. 11
Historical trauma, Jan. 25
How can you apply PACEs science in your work?, Feb. 8
Integrating crime reporting into a health beat, Feb. 22

The Institute for Nonprofit News strengthens and supports more than 400 independent news organizations in a new kind of news network: nonprofit, nonpartisan and dedicated to public service.
