Lenfest’s News Philanthropy Network: Introduction to Capital Campaigns

Capital campaigns can be a powerful tool for news fundraisers. These major fundraising efforts can catalyze donors, board members, and staff around significant goals that can build an organization’s capacity. Successful campaigns require detailed planning, a clear message, and buy-in throughout the organization.

To learn more about the basics of planning a campaign for your organization, join The Lenfest Institute’s News Philanthropy Network on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 12 p.m. MST for a free virtual introductory workshop.

Andrea Kihlstedt, a fundraising consultant with more than 30 years experience and the co-founder of Capital Campaign Pro, will lead the 60-minute session. She’ll provide an overview of the campaign process, outline the steps necessary to plan and launch a campaign, and answer questions from participants.

The 60-minute online session is free and open to all News Philanthropy Network members. You can register, and join the Network, by filling out this form

Capital campaigns can be leveraged for more than just constructing buildings or endowing positions, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about how news publishers can best leverage this fundraising strategy.
