Scripps Howard Fund Journalism Grants

From the Scripps Howard Fund provides grants to support journalism education that gives students hands-on experience as well as training to help professional journalists refresh their skill sets.

Grants range from $5,000 to $7,500.

Grants requests are accepted, in writing, two times a year:
First Period: Submission deadline is April 30 for consideration during the year’s first grants period, with successful grant applications typically awarded in late June.
Second Period: Submission deadline is September 10 for second-half consideration, with successful grant applications are typically awarded in December.
