The Knight Center has joined forces with the Solutions Journalism Network to bring you a new free online course “Solutions journalism: New ways of elevating your reporting and engaging audiences.”
Solutions journalism can help you create rigorous and compelling reporting about people who are trying to find solutions to address some of today’s most pressing social problems. Are you ready to incorporate solutions journalism into your work and learn how it can be applied to a variety of beats in a variety of mediums?
During this four-week FREE massive online course (MOOC) you will learn the key principles of solutions journalism. What is it? What is it not? Why is it important? And how to make it happen, from idea to reporting to completed story.
This MOOC runs from May 8 to June 4, and will teach you the concept and practice of solutions journalism.
This course is taught by Hugo Balta – publisher of Illinois Latino News and an accredited solutions journalism trainer.
Like all Knight Center courses, “Solutions journalism: New ways of elevating your reporting and engaging audiences” is asynchronous, meaning you can complete the course materials at your own pace.
