Through the end of 2023, PRX plans to support up to 20 teams of journalists, who’ll participate in a 12-week curriculum and mentorship lab, focusing on key pillars of podcasting – including audience-centered content, business development, audience engagement, and workflow within a larger organization.

Participants will receive:
–12 weeks of skills training in listener-centered podcast development with PRX and industry experts, covering goal-setting, marketing, distribution, monetization and audience engagement
–Personalized one-on-one consulting and mentorship from PRX
–$5,000 in funding to offset program participation
–Access to a network of industry experts and a community of peers to learn from and alongside

This is the perfect opportunity for you if you’re exploring a new podcast idea and just need the time, creative space and guidance to make it happen. This is also a great opportunity to professionally develop emerging talent at your organization too. With the right structure and support, your podcast will be conceptualized and well-tested by the end of the program – and ready to launch within a year.

Applications for the Western Region (Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii and Mountain – including Colorado) will be accepted on a rolling basis, with the application window closing on August 12, 2022. (Note that there are different deadlines for the three regions of the U.S. Please select your respective region in the application.)

The Accelerator for the Western Region will take place from September 19 – December 16, 2022.

This training is free to all participants, and each selected organization will receive a $5,000 stipend to offset personnel and/or production expenses for the duration of the training.
