Timo Russo has been KGNU’s Station Manager since 2015. A long-time print journalist, photographer, and contributor to KGNU, Tim covered the West Bank for Getty Images and reported for Free Speech Radio News and the Colorado Daily from Mexico, Washington D.C., and the Middle East. You may have heard his voice on KGNU as he has regularly contributed to KGNU’s Latin American news program, La Lucha Sigue. As the founding director of the grassroots media collective COMPPA (Comunicador@s Populares Por la Autonomía), based in Chiapas, Mexico, Timo helped establish a network of independent radio stations and media centers throughout Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. He is also vice president of Free Speech Radio News’ board of directors. He majored in Latin American Studies at the University of Colorado, where he was instrumental in establishing the Department of Ethnic Studies.
