Since 2018, the #newsCOneeds year-end campaign has served Colorado’s local media ecosystem as an incubator for mission-informed fundraising; finding new ways to build trust and transparency; deepen impact and community connection; and instead of a subscription, offering local communities a motivation to become part of the change they want to see in civil society.

On December 1, the Colorado News Collaborative (COLab) — in partnership with the Colorado Media Project and News Revenue Hub — launched the year-end 2020 #newsCOneeds campaign as an ecosystem-wide, public awareness-building opportunity for all Colorado newsrooms to spotlight the positive impacts they are making in their communities, and to build trust in and support for their local public-service journalism.
